Hello There! Today i am sharing this ‘YAY happy birthday’ project
I cut stripes of white cardstock with my Fiskars paper trimmer. Just eyeballed how wide i want them to be. I used the measurements on my paper trimmer to cut them all the same. Now i had a bunch of white cardstock stripes and i just needed them to be in rainbow colors. For this i used my Distress Oxide inks. I used the colors worn lipstick, picked rasberry, candied Apple, spiced marmelade, squeezed lemonade, evergreen bough and twisted citron together, tumbled glass, mermaid lagoon and wilted violet.
For the rainbow stripes background i used a piece of my gold glitter gift-wrap paper. I taped that on white cardstock with double sided tape. I glued the rainbow stripes on this with Dina Wackley – Ultra Thick Gel Medium. This because i wanted to be able to wiggle the stripes to eyeball them in position. I did not use any measurments for this just glued them on how i liked it.
I die cut the MFT Heart Entwined die-namic ons ome white cardstock. I glued this in the centre of the piece of white cardstock.
I placed the rainbow stripes on the card just how i liked it. Again no measurments. I used foam squares to give it some dimension. I trimmed the ends off with my scissors.
I die cut the alphabet letters YAY on some white and black cardstock. Glued them on eachother so it looks like the black is the shadow. With foam squares and T-ruler i placed them on the rainbow stripes.
I heat embossed the ‘Happy Birthday’ from the SSS Tiny Words, on black cardstock with WOW -opac bright white- embossing powder. I trimmed this down with my scissors to create a little rectangle. I popped this on the YAY letters with foam squares.
