Hi! Today i am sharing this ‘flying christmas trees’ project
If you want to see a short video where you can see how they move -> check out my Instagram post!
Started with the card panel. I heat embossed a couple of trees. I stamped a tree stamp from The Stamp Market -tiny trees, all over the card panel. I used VersaMark watermark ink and WOW embossing powder -Pearl white.
I stamped a couple of images from The Stamp Market -so mini hellos on white cardstock with Versafine onyx black ink.
I watercolored the images with Distress Oxide inks. For the trees i used peacock feather, evergreen bough and bundled sage. For the balloons is used worn lipstick, picked raspberry, twisted citron, candied apple, dried marigold, squeezed lemonade and tumbled glas. I gave them some high-lights with a white Sakura Gelly Roll pen. I die cut them out with the matching dies.
The cute little tag image, i used the word ‘merry’ instead of ‘hello’. I just covered the ‘hello’ with a smal piece of purple tape. And then stamped the word ‘merry’ on it.
Now for the mechanism that makes the balloons and trees swing, i can recommend the video TILD card from Julie Ebersole. I got it from that video.
I forgot to make photo’s this time. I will create a simulair card soon with some pictures.
The mechanism is the exact same as that youtube video.
For the balloons and trees is did some extra cardstock layer. I die cut the balloons die on white cardstock..but..not the bottom of it. I let the bow hang of the edges of my plate from my die cutting machine. This way it wont cut out the piece at the bottom and i can cut, with scissors, a shape under it where i can glue my trees on.
It gives more stability and it makes from all the pieces one big piece.
I created a rectangle from the sentiment and placed it on the card panel with foam squares.
