Hi! Today i am sharing this ‘birthday beads shaker’ project
I started with the front panel. Now i don’t have a frame die like this so i made this with measuring and the smallest die from SSS –Sentiment Labels. Make sure the space is wide enough for the beads to move free and you have enough space at the top and bottom to place a strip of foam tape behind it. To hold on to the thread.
I inked this panel with a make up brush, for me it blends better this way and i have a bit more control of the amount of ink. I used Distress Oxides wilted violet, mermaid lagoon and Distress ink blueprint sketch. I splatter some water on it. Then some blueprint sketch mixed with water and some white ink from a pen, Sakura Pen-Touch. I placed on every line, vertical, a double strip of double sided foam tape.
placed two strips of double sided foam tape on the card base. At the top and at the bottom. I layered another strip of double sided foam tape on it so it has some nice dimension. This is for the beads, so they can slide.
I used fish wire for the beads. I cut six strings of wire that would fit on the card. I used pink, lilac, light blue and dark blue beads. Three of every color on each string.
I marked where i wanted the wires to be on the card base. I used the front panel for this. Like a stencil. I attached the wires with the beads on the card. The tape will hold it down. I placed a strong double sided tape on top of the foam strips. This will hold the wire in place. Now i made sure the beads slide..and they did 🙂 So now i placed the front panel on the card base.
I die cut happy from white cardstock, twice. I used Winnie and Walter –In a Word: Happy Cutaway. I inked one ‘happy’ die cut with Distress Oxides worn lipstick and picked raspberry. I glued them together. I placed it on the card with foam squares. So the beads can slide behind it.
I heat embossed the ‘happy birthday’ from SSS –Tiny Words, on black cardstock. With WOW –opac bright white- embossing powder. I trimmed this down with my scissors to create a little rectangle. I placed this on the ‘happy’ word with foam squares.
For some shine i glued three sequins on the card with Ranger Glossy Accents.
